Be a Kid Again – Make Your Christmas Gifts!

Posted by: whisperandfriends on: December 14, 2009

I remember when I was a kid, my sister and I would make presents for our parents.  (In addition to the typical soap on the rope and Jean Nate perfume.)  It always meant a lot to us, making something for mom and dad.  It might not always have been much, but it was from us.

I find myself in a similar situation.  I am making many of the gifts for family and friends.  I’m making angel earrings for my friend in Pittsburgh and also my cousin in Chicago.  I’m making earrings for my niece.  In the past, I have made bookmarks, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

I pick out the right stone or charm just for them.  A part of me goes into every item.  I get excited when I give it to them, and can’t wait to see their faces!  Just today, my love gave me a pair of earrings that he made, just for me.  They are beautiful in their own right, but they mean so much more, knowing he made them.

So, friends, make your gifts.  Whether it is soap or candles, like my niece and nephew made, or if it is the “movie night” handmade gift certificate, all will be welcome because they came from  you.

Gifts are from the heart, my friends, and will be treasured past the season!

Your Friend,
Whisper
